Fall is my favorite season of all. Today was an absolutely beautiful day. A few things I like about fall: cool weather, leaves turning color, pumpkin bars & pie, cook-outs, keeping the windows open and the fresh breeze at night. And my most favorite...can you guess....the smell of leaves burning.
Milan's Great Aunt Esther Sauer passed away this morning in our Nursing Home. We have really enjoyed getting to visit her weekly when we visit my Grandma Ingold and when we used to visit Uncle Quill. She had a yummy candy bowl for the kids and they couldn't wait to visit her. I forgot to ask Milan for some memories of her. I remember her as a kid especially on Sunday's in our kitchen helping with the dishes. I remember her grand kids all talking very highly about their Grandma and the fun times on the Sauer farm. Aunt Esther always sent a card and a crisp $5 for anything....sickness, new baby, etc. She always seemed to appreciate our visits and I think every time we visited (up till the end) she would tell me that my family was so beautiful and how blessed we are. She had a lot of pain at the end and I always felt so sorry for her even though she didn't just complain, you could just tell. Her life is over here and she has no more pain. I'm happy for her in that way. I will miss seeing her family in there all the time at the Nursing Home. I'm pretty sure her daughter, Marilyn, was there every morning to do her hair.
Tonight we went over to Uncle Quill's house and loaded up a truck load (thanks for extra help from Grandpa Hartzler, Michael & Curt) to send to California for Mike & Brenda. Then Aaron & Jocelyn are coming out over Easter and renting a u-haul to take their stuff back to CA. It is starting to sink in going over there tonight that Uncle Quill is gone. The girls are packing things up and either taking it back or getting ready for a sale. It just doesn't seem possible yet. The kids had lots of questions tonight when we got home again about Uncle Quill and why his girls have to clean up the house and eventually get rid of it. Megan wanted to know what we were going to leave for her.

Tell your little megan that she is going to need a big house.. or a very good organizing system! She seems to be your little collector!
yep, there seems to be a pack rat in every family! Tagen had a good time 'hiding' in the moving truck too...he couldn't stop talking about it last night in bed.
Oh megan... where do we begin!! I just love high maintenance girls!!!
