Christmas Day

What a morning! We didn't get to bed till about 2am after getting home late last night and doing some things for today. BUT>>>we were back up at 3:15AM with 3 kids puking!! puking!! and more puking!! Megan, Adam & Cooper were sick with the flu! Eli woke up with pink eye in both eyes!! So about 8am they finally stopped puking and went back to sleep. Milan and I layed down and Molly came in after 10am wondering why we weren't going to church. She had no idea what went on all night!!

It was Hartzler Christmas at noon. I went and took Molly & Maddie. It wasn't the same with Milan and the rest of the kids there with me. We ate another awesome meal. Grandma makes ham every year on Christmas for us. And also another tradition (heritage) is Hungarian sausage. My mom took cheesy noodles, Aunt Jan made great sweet rolls. I'm not sure who else took everything. I know Julie and I were both make jellos and we both made tapioca (I made orange and she brought strawberry). We had 2 kinds of salad, corn, pickles--have to be Klaussan, applesauce. After we ate we did our "T" gift exchange. Everyone has to take something for $5 that starts with the letter T. (we pick a different letter each year). I got trash bags and some tape. Molly got Ten Apples On Top book, Maddie got twizzlers & tablet. Some other gift ideas were: tote with twix, tape measure, target gift certif, t-bone steak, twizzlers, tinsel toe socks, tea lights, towels, tuna. Always a fun exchange!! After that we had our annual talent show. Pelfrey family did a cute Christmas play, Hartzler did a funny rendiditon of our Hartzler Christmas, Gpa & Gma did a cute song and Gasser's played their instruments. We had to wait because of my sick kids. Megan was so disappointed!!! We went home.

The kids decided they felt good enough to open presents here at home. We didn't get them that much because we are taking them to a water park this Sunday night...anyone is welcome to join us!! Each got a toy, book, socks & undies!! Molly got a room for her Barbie house. Megan got a scrapbook and iron/bead thing. Adam got remote control airplane. Maddie got Hullabaloo game. Eli got Handy Man tool box.

I decided to go back to Gma Hartzler's for supper. We usually just have leftovers for whoever stays. Adam & Cooper were feeling better so I took them. Megan still wasn't feeling good and Eli still had pink eyes. So Milan (the awesome Dad he is) stayed home with them again. I brought some food home.

Daddy read the Christmas story to the kids. It still didn't seem like Christmas though with sick kids. Hopefully everyone is feeling normal tomorrow and no one else gets it!!!

Also--exciting news: Dan Hilty & Ashley Butler are engaged!! YA!!!
