Our Weekend & 1st Day of School

Well, I see I'm not doing very well and keeping this updated. I haven't posted since last Thursday and honestly I haven't even had time to sign online. Last Friday we babysat Milan's nephew, Isaac, who is 2 years old. Then we had our cousin Tyler Beun over and he stayed and helped with chores. For lunch we went to Grandma Hartzler's for a cook-out to see Great-Aunt Ruth Sobel and her children-Dick & Judy Zipay from Lakeland, FL and Bob Sobel from Elburn, IL (who we just got to visit a few weeks ago when we were in Chicago for Troy & Rebekah's wedding). I got a flat tire on my way home and my mom had to come and get me and 8 kids!!! :) Then Friday night we went to the Katanic's while Milan, Adam, Tyler and Eli were milking. They were camping out with the Troyers. My girls ended up camping out with them.

We fixed my van tire on Saturday and went to the library for books for Megan's summer reading challenge that was suppose to be done over the summer and due this week and we also went to Buehler's. Then we came home and worked outside the rest of the day in the garden, mowing and fixing the 15-passenger van in case I need to haul more kids than what fits into my mini-van. Saturday night we went to testimonies at church for Kurt & Kelly Gasser, Andrew Raifsnider & Matthew Dotterer. The kids went to Uncle Quill's house to watch the Olympics.

Sunday we were at church. Uncle Quill not feeling well and did not go to services at the chapel. I helped in the kitchen for Suzanne's turn. The 3 girls went to chapel service with Gma Ingold. We stayed for baptisms and then the meal after church. We came home and Milan and I tried to get a nap but the kids had other ideas. So we went to Gpa and Gma Hartzler's for the evening. Some of the kids were swimming. We sang to Uncle Dale (he's 54) and Rhonda made a german chocolate cake. Gpa, Gma, Dale, Beth, Katanic's, Troyers, JP & Crystal, Gassers, Doug Ingolds, Dad, Mom and Curt were all there. Uncle Jeff & Emma stopped in.

MONDAY--1st Day of School. I got up early to get my peaches canned. Megan and Molly both woke up early and ready for school. We had to wake up Adam. They were ready to go back! They got on the bus about 8:30AM. Maddie went at 11:30AM. She didn't cry but she sure looked scared when she got on that bus and looked out at us through the window. Callie came at 1PM. Then at 3:30PM, Molly, Megan, Adam, Maddie & Mason got off the bus. They had a fun first day of school and couldn't wait to tell me all about it. Maddie met a girl friend but she can't remember her name. She likes recess the best so far. All the kids have gym on Monday and they thought that was pretty neat. Molly & Megan both had reading for their first day and they say homework is starting on Tues. Ugghhh!!!
