Labor Day Weekend

Friday after Village Inn with the Baltic Family--Grandpa & Grandma Baltic, Uncle Walt, Fred & Mary, Tom & Elaine (& kids) and Matt & Lynn--we went to look for school shoes again at Kohl's, Target and then to Buehler's for a few groceries. Brianna and Cody spent the night with us and Molly went with the Hill's. We stopped at McDonald's on the way home for ice cream.

Saturday morning Megan came back home from spending the night at her friend, Emily. Elaine and I took lunch to the workers at church at noon. We made chicken enchiladas, applesauce, salad, salsa dip, grapes and cream puff dessert. The kids roller-bladed in the church parking lot while the guys ate. Then after lunch, Molly, Megan, Adam & Maddie all went home with Elaine. Audrey's & Rachel's were coming up to clean the apartment and Elaine was watching all the kids. Milan loaded his trailer and when he got home we went out to the grand opening of the Lodi Stations. Milan thought he'd get a free train ride around the mall while I shopped. NOPE!! It is $2.50 a person for a ride. Audrey brought the kids out to the house and we had leftovers from lunch and sweet corn for supper. The kids played good.

Sunday at church we heard a pretty surprising engagement of Rudy Zollinger to Polly Uhler. The girls were all crying but everyone seemed happy. After church we went out the house and the kids went swimming. Pool water was still 83 degrees. Audrey was home with Ben because he had a temp (teething). We had left-overs and sweet corn again. The girls worked on a play all evening in the basement and then us adults got 'invited' to go down and watch their play. The boys and dads walked down to the farm and the girls walked to Grandma's to say hello.

Monday morning bright and early-Molly, Megan and Adam left with Grandpa & Grandma Ingold for Kings Island. Milan left with a Mennonite kid for Washington D.C./New Jersey and Virginia deliveries till Wednesday. I took Maddie, Eli & Cooper and we picked up Gma Ingold at the Nursing Home and went to Grandma Hartzler's for Barna picnic. We had an awesome turn-out, lots of great food, swimming, corn hole and even some political discussion. It was hot and almost 90 degrees. Let's see if I remember everyone who came: Uncle Ruban & Aunt Alice, Curt, Michael, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Beth, Uncle Jim & Aunt Jan-Greg, Dan, Matt & Joanna, Aunt Ruth, Tim & Pam, Todd & Amy (and kids), Duane & Diana, Kelly & friend, Aunt Evy, Louis, Grandpa & Grandma Hartzler, JP & Crystal, Ryan & Julie (Emma), Doug & Joanna-Tagen, Reese & Ryder, Frank & Jane, Sam. After the Barna gathering and naps, we headed over to Tom & Elaine's to see who all was still here. Casey & Rachel and boys were there and they were just getting ready to order pizza so we stayed (Papa Johns, of course:). Then we headed to Doug & Joanna's and waited for the kids to come home from their day at Kings Island. They had a blast!! They couldn't tell me enough stories before bed. They loved the rides and the water. They said Grandpa & Grandma were too hot or they would have stayed longer. They took their maps and ticket stubs to school today to show everyone! Then they met Sonny & Marie and Cindy & Austin for supper at Applebee's in Columbus on their way home. Next time they want to take dad so they can go on the big adult rides.
