I knew it was Columbus Day but didn't realize no banks were open (at least National City) and no mail. We had school but heard that Heritage didn't. Milan is gone this week. It will be a long week. Homework. Tests. Reading. Homework. Megan has a Social Studies test tomorrow. She has to know the definitions (matching or fill in the blank) for: respect, civility, compromise, compassion, persistence and volunteer. Now, I'm not the teacher but seriously is there much difference between respect=be considerate of others and their feelings or compassion=being kind and thoughtful to others?? She also has to know the definition of "Benefits of Authority" and 5 of them. Also, decide if someone has authority or is using power of authority. She also will have to read a short paragraph and decide if someone was a good citizen and tell HOW they know. And she has to give suggestions on how to be a good citizen after they look at a picture.
I was going to meet my mom over at Uncle Quill's to clean out the fridge and load up some things to take to our World Relief Center but we had to stay home and study. I tried flash cards, matching and fill in the blank practice papers for Megan. We won't find out the results till next Wednesday. She has a Science test this Friday over soil. Ugghhh!! Don't these teachers know that we (including myself) can't comprehend his much memorizing in a week!!
We are reading every night this month for 15 minutes to earn a free personal Pizza Hut pizza for each kid.
All the kids were in bed by 8:30PM...that is really early for them!!
