Chickens & Money

So we had someone stop again today too see if we sell chickens or eggs. He said his wife is from Africa and wants a fresh chicken to eat so bad. We had a lady from Marshallville drop off a rooster and 2 chickens....that she says lays eggs but we haven't got any eggs from them yet. So I had Milan call him and he gave them a price and he is checking with the wife. We have had so many interesting people stop for chickens. Mainly Mexicans. We are still waiting for our newest batch (of about 75) to start laying more eggs. We thought it would be in Sept but they are all not laying. We can't seem to keep up with our egg customers. The price of chicken feed is so high right now. I just told Milan our chickens eat more $$ in a month than we do...I guess their are about 300 of them!!

And on to a bragging moment. Adam seems to be my first kid so far to understand money so easy the first time explained. He can even figure out the money photocopied in black and white before I can figure out what president head it is. I just love it when they can do a homework paper all by themselves. He says he wants to be a farmer....

Milan is in Fairfax, VA tonight. He is enjoying the beautiful fall scenery. His first delivery was to an atheist and the next was to an Obama supporter. This trip sounds like it will be interesting.

We went to Uncle Quill's house tonight. It still seems so strange that he is gone. I'm taking some things to the World Relief....mainly clothes and sheets. The girls had it all ready and labeled. I have to go back again and clean out the fridge since they are all gone and won't be back till Spring.
